BUDOKON BOOTCAMP IS BACK:
Hollywood's fitness craze
returns to our studio in full force!
Budokon
is back by popular demand. We introduced this class a year ago and it was
much loved by those students who got a chance to take it. The workshop
structure, however, was too rigid for many of our clients. We listened and are
changing this aspect of the Budokon Bootcamp.
From Match 7th
onward, this class will run like any other mat class in our studio. This means,
that if you have never tried a class at our studio you do a trial class for only
$10. If you have a mat class card ($150 for 10 classes) you can use it towards
this class. You can also do drop-ins and only pay $20 per class. We hope that
this will entice you and our other clients to give this excellent class a try.
We include
below some information on Budokon to remind everyone on what it's all about.
Also, feel free to read the
article published in The Courier News on Budokon at our studio.
Budokon, has become Hollywood's latest fitness craze. Actress
Rene Russo was the first convert to this fusion of yoga, martial arts and
meditation and was swiftly followed by Courtney Cox, also of Friends fame, and
her actor husband, David Arquette, who then both recommended it to Jennifer
Aniston.
The literal translation of
Budokon is "the way of the spiritual warrior." Budokon is a fusion of Power
Yoga, Martial Arts and Meditation in one complete system. This system develops
strength of the body, sharpness of the mind, and serenity of the spirit.
The four main elements of the Budokon system are
mind, body, spirit and power.

Budokon Founder Cameron Shayne |
We are the only studio in New Jersey to have
a Budokon-certified instructor who was trained by Kancho Shayne, the
personal Budokon instructor to Jennifer Aniston.

Budokon allows a person of any physical condition
to experience martial arts and yoga in a noncompetitive and holistically
beneficial way. Budokon is a union of yin (feminine) and yang (masculine)
energies. Yin energy arises from yoga practice (stillness). Yang energy arises
from martial arts practice (explosive movement). Stillness of the mind is
achieved through meditation. The practice of Budokon brings your mind, body, and
spirit together in a
harmonious union.
Budokon classes
are high energy fast paced classes that are excellent for improving your
cardiovascular, building lean muscle, and developing your self-esteem. The
combination of 30 minutes of flexibility-enhancing yoga, followed by another 30
minutes of body-toning karate kicks is topped off by meditation. This high energy atmosphere keeps
most people coming back for more.
Class
Rates: Trial (new clients only) - $10, Drop-in - $20,
or use the Group Class Card - $150 for 10 classes

Iron Yoga is the latest breakthrough in mind-body exercise; integrating the
mindfulness of yoga with the physical culture of bodybuilding.
Yoga has the
power to transform peoples lives and empower individuals in ways that working
out alone simply couldn't. Combine the two and its empowering.
Building on the strengths of both disciplines, this user-friendly system
combines breath based yoga postures, held in accurate alignment, while
simultaneously working out with lightweight ankle and or hand-held free weights.
Iron Yoga utilizes 1-, 3-, and maximum up to 5 lb hand held and/or ankle
weights. The ankle weights are strapped on, and the hand held weights are gently
held. Not every exercise uses both ankle and hand weights at the same time, but
some do.
The weights stabilize your body and encourage you to feel the action of the yoga
practice itself. The exercises combine and synchronize the balance of hard and
soft, strength and grace, and stability and flexibility, so that your entire
body is engaged in a challenging and exciting new way.

Iron Yoga promotes healing and repair of the muscle tissues. The focus is not
purely on using the weights, but rather on the connection between the breath,
body, and mind.
